Linear

Move your Linear issues into Fareeqy

Export, upload, and choose what becomes your task lists. And we will say it now: a Linear export carries no comments.

Importing is available on paid plans and during the free trial, 14 days with no credit card

Linear is fast and carefully made, and it is built for engineering teams alone. As your team grows to include marketing, operations and design, half the company starts working outside it.

Moving out starts with a CSV export, from settings for the whole workspace or from the project itself if you are not an admin. We read the file and show you exactly what would be created, and we say plainly that the export carries no comments at all.

The result? Your issues arrive grouped the way you choose, with your whole team in one workspace.

What becomes what

Fareeqy has three levels and no fourth: project, task list, task.

How to export from Linear

  1. The whole workspace

From workspace settings, available to admins:

Settings → Import / Export → Export CSV

A download link arrives by email and expires within 12 hours, so download it as soon as it lands.

  2. One project or view

Open the project or view, then from its name menu:

    Export issues as CSV

The fastest way to move a single project without admin access.

Accepted formats: CSV, or ZIP. You can upload several files together in one go.

What comes across, and what does not

Comes across

  • Issues with their titles and descriptions
  • Due dates and completion state
  • Assignees, and the preview asks you who each one is on your team
  • Priority, written as a line at the top of the notes

Does not come across

  • Comments. A Linear export does not carry them at all, and the discussions stay in Linear.
  • Files you uploaded inside the tool itself. Their bytes are not in the export at all, and fetching them would need your credentials for that account. Links do come across, inside the task's notes.
  • Cycles, estimate points and issue links.

Before you start

A Linear export contains no comments at all. Issues, descriptions, states, dates and assignees all come across, and the discussions stay behind in Linear.

How the import runs

Nothing is written until you approve it

Upload the file and we read it, then show you exactly what would be created: how many projects, task lists and tasks, every title we would have to rename, and every person on your board. Only the confirm button creates data.

Duplicate titles are settled in front of you

Your board has three cards called Follow up, and the board's own name may already belong to a project you made last year. We rename, and every rename is on screen before you confirm, not after.

Upload the same export again safely

Re-exported after another week of work? Upload it again. What you imported before keeps your edits, and only what is new is added. This is a migration tool, not a two-way sync, so an import never overwrites what you changed inside Fareeqy.

The file stays yours

Delete it from the import page whenever you want. Forget about it and we delete it automatically after 30 days.

Frequently asked questions

Do Linear comments come across?

No. A Linear export contains no comments at all, which is a limit of the export itself. Issues, descriptions, states, dates and assignees all come across.

I am not a workspace admin. Can I still export?

Yes. Open the project or view and use Export issues as CSV from its name menu. Only the whole-workspace export needs admin access.

My download link expired. What now?

Request the export again from settings. Linear's link expires within 12 hours, so download the file as soon as the email arrives.
