How to comment on a task or task list
Permission: Owner, Manager, or Team Member
Comments are the default way to talk about work — with rich formatting, @mentions, # references to anything in the project, and file attachments.
Comment on a task list
- Open the project containing the task list.
- Click the task list to open it.
- Scroll down to the “Comments” section.
- Click inside the editor where it says “Add a comment...”.
- Write your comment. To mention a teammate, type @ and pick their name from the popup.
- Click “Add Comment” (or use the Cmd + Enter shortcut).
Comment on a task
- Open the task from inside the task list.
- Scroll to the “Task Comments” section.
- Write your comment the same way (mentions and attachments supported).
- Click “Add Comment”.
Reference anything with #
Just like you @mention a teammate, type # inside any comment to link it directly to anything in the project. A popup appears — type part of the name to filter it, then click an item to insert a link. Anyone reading the comment jumps straight to it in one click.
