Turn your spreadsheet into projects and tasks
No export from another tool, no templates. Upload your sheet as it is and see what will be created before it is.
Importing is available on paid plans and during the free trial, 14 days with no credit card
You never bought a project tool. Your plan is a sheet in Excel or Google Sheets, with a column for the task, one for the owner and one for the date, and it works right up until someone stops updating it.
Upload the sheet as it is. There is no template to fill and no columns to reorder: we read the header row, work out what each column means, and show you what would be created before anything is. Each sheet in the file becomes its own project.
The result? Your plan becomes live work, where every task has a single owner, a single deadline and a single priority, and the reminder reaches you before the date rather than after.
What becomes what
Fareeqy has three levels and no fourth: project, task list, task.
| Spreadsheet | Fareeqy |
|---|---|
| The sheet, or a project column | Project |
| A list or stage column, or whatever you choose | Task list |
| The row | Task |
How to prepare your spreadsheet
From Excel or Numbers
Save the file in a format we read:
File → Save As → .xlsx
Or CSV UTF-8 if your sheet is simple. Each sheet in the file becomes its own project, named after it.
From Google Sheets
From the File menu:
File → Download → Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)
Download the file and upload it. Do not paste a share link: the link needs your account's permission and we read nothing from it.
Accepted formats: CSV, Excel, or ZIP. You can upload several files together in one go.
What comes across, and what does not
Comes across
- A task name column, the only one that is required
- A status column, where done or complete arrives as a finished task
- An assignee column, by the name as you wrote it, and the preview asks who that is on your team
- A due date column, in any format your sheet understands
- A description column, which becomes the task's notes
Does not come across
- Formulas, colours, images and in-cell comments. Only the text is read.
- The old xls format. Save the file as xlsx or CSV instead.
Before you start
The only requirement is that the first row is your column headers, and that one of them is the task name. Every other column is optional.
How the import runs
Nothing is written until you approve it
Upload the file and we read it, then show you exactly what would be created: how many projects, task lists and tasks, every title we would have to rename, and every person on your board. Only the confirm button creates data.
Duplicate titles are settled in front of you
Your board has three cards called Follow up, and the board's own name may already belong to a project you made last year. We rename, and every rename is on screen before you confirm, not after.
Upload the same export again safely
Re-exported after another week of work? Upload it again. What you imported before keeps your edits, and only what is new is added. This is a migration tool, not a two-way sync, so an import never overwrites what you changed inside Fareeqy.
The file stays yours
Delete it from the import page whenever you want. Forget about it and we delete it automatically after 30 days.
Frequently asked questions
Which columns does my sheet need?
Only one is required: the task name. We recognise it from its header whether you wrote Task, Name, or the Arabic equivalent. Every other column, from status to assignee to date, is optional.
My file has several sheets. What happens?
Each sheet becomes its own project, named after it. If your sheet has a project column, we use that instead.
Can I paste a Google Sheets link?
No. Download the file as xlsx or CSV and upload it. The link needs your Google account's permission and we read nothing from it.
