How to assign a task to a team member
Permission: Owner, Manager, or Team Member
Assigning a task to a specific member makes them the owner — and they get an instant notification.
- Open the project, then the task list, then the task.
- Find the “Assignee” field in the task details.
- Click the field to open the assignee picker.
- Search by name or email, or click “No one” to clear the assignment.
- Click the member's name or photo to assign them.
- Close the panel — it saves automatically.
Note: Only project members appear in the list. To add someone new, give them project access first via “Project Members & Teams”.
