How to connect Fareeqy to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and other AI tools over MCP
In Claude, find Fareeqy in the connectors directory; in other tools, paste one URL. Sign in to Fareeqy and choose what your assistant may do. No key to copy, and you can disconnect at any time.
What this connection does
Your AI assistant reaches your Fareeqy workspace over the open MCP protocol. It reads your projects, task lists, tasks, Majlis discussions and files, and creates or edits them within what you allow. Ask it “What are my overdue tasks?” or “Turn these notes into a task list in the launch project”, and it works inside Fareeqy directly, answering with a link that opens the record.
The connection URL is the same in every tool: https://app.fareeqy.com/api/mcp
What happens when you connect
- You add Fareeqy in your tool, from the connectors directory in Claude or by its URL elsewhere, and it opens a Fareeqy page in your browser.
- Sign in to Fareeqy if you are not signed in already.
- The “Connect the app to Fareeqy” page appears, showing the app's name and the address you will return to after approving.
- Choose read-only or read and write, and open “Advanced permissions” to pick the tools it may call, one by one. Delete tools and sensitive tools stay unticked unless you tick them yourself.
- Click “Allow connection”, and you return to your tool with the connection ready.
Note: The assistant acts with your own permissions and nothing more. It cannot reach a project you cannot open, or do what your role in the company does not allow.
Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and mobile)
- Open Customize, then Connectors, and select Discover.
- Type Fareeqy in Search connectors, and open “Fareeqy | فريقي”.
- Select Connect to Claude, and approve on the Fareeqy page.
- Fareeqy then appears in claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the mobile app on the same account.
Tip: On Claude's Team and Enterprise plans, the account owner adds the connector first from the admin settings, then each member selects Connect to Claude and approves with their own Fareeqy account.
Note: Can't find Fareeqy in the directory? Click + next to Connectors, then Add custom connector, enter the name “Fareeqy”, paste https://app.fareeqy.com/api/mcp, and continue the same way.
Claude Code
- Run in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http fareeqy https://app.fareeqy.com/api/mcp(add--scope userto use it in every project). - Open Claude Code and type
/mcp, then choosefareeqyand select Authenticate. - Approve on the Fareeqy page that opens in your browser.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, and turn on Developer mode in the advanced settings.
- Create a new connector named “Fareeqy”, paste the URL, and choose OAuth for authentication.
- Approve on the Fareeqy page, then enable Fareeqy from the tools menu in a chat.
Note: On ChatGPT business workspaces, an admin may need to allow custom connectors first. Menu names can differ slightly between versions.
Codex
- Run:
codex mcp add fareeqy --url https://app.fareeqy.com/api/mcp - Then:
codex mcp login fareeqy, and approve on the Fareeqy page. - The same setup works for Codex inside VS Code, since it reads the same
~/.codex/config.toml.
VS Code and Cursor
- VS Code: search for
@mcp fareeqyin Extensions and click Install, or runMCP: Add Server, choose HTTP and paste the URL. Approve on first use. - Cursor: add Fareeqy to
~/.cursor/mcp.jsonwith aurlfield set to the same address, then click Connect next to it under Settings, MCP.
A tool that does not support sign-in (OAuth)
Create an access token under Account Settings, in the “AI assistant (MCP)” tab, choose its permissions, then add it in your tool as an Authorization header with the value Bearer followed by the token. The same tab has ready-to-copy setups for the common tools.
Review or disconnect
- Open Account Settings from the avatar menu, then the “AI assistant (MCP)” tab.
- Each connection appears by name, marked “App connected via OAuth”.
- Edit its permissions tool by tool, or revoke it and it stops at once. The call log shows everything it did, what succeeded and what was refused.
- The connection keeps working without signing in again. If it goes unused for 90 days, reconnect from your tool.
- In tools that support it, the app asks you before any delete runs, so the assistant deletes nothing without you knowing.
- Each plan has a daily limit of MCP calls, listed on the pricing page.
If the connection does not complete
- “The connection request has expired”: an approval request is valid for a few minutes. Go back to your tool and start again.
- “Connecting external apps is not available for your company”: contact us to enable it for your company.
- The assistant refuses a specific tool: you did not tick it when approving. Add it from the “AI assistant (MCP)” tab without reconnecting.
The result? Your assistant works inside Fareeqy rather than beside it, and you stay the one who decides what it may do.
