How to restore an archived project
Permission: Owner or Manager
Bring any archived project back to your active list in one click. No loss, no waiting — everything exactly as you left it.
Restoring brings the project back to the active list instantly, with writing re-enabled — and with every task, file, comment, discussion, and chat message exactly as it was before archiving.
Method 1: from the Archive tab
- From the top navigation, pick "Projects".
- Click the "Archive" tab — you'll find every archived project here.
- Hover the card of the project you want to restore so the action buttons appear.
- Click "Restore project".
- The project returns to the active list immediately, and your team can write on it again as if nothing happened.
Method 2: from inside the project itself
- Open the archived project (via its direct link, or from the Archive tab).
- At the top of the page, you'll see a clear banner telling you the project is archived, with a "Restore project" button.
- Click the button — the banner disappears, and the project is active again instantly.
After restoring
- You and your team can add tasks, task lists, files, comments, and messages again.
- The project reappears in default reports automatically.
- The restore action is recorded in the project's activity log with the actor's name and timestamp.
Note: Restoring is available to the owner and managers only. Team members can see archived projects but can't restore them.
