How to view the Project Timeline and track activity
The Project Timeline writes itself — every action in the project is recorded automatically on one page grouped by day. No meetings, no messages to find out what happened.
Open the Project Timeline
- Open the project you want to track from the “Projects dashboard”.
- From the project tabs at the top, pick “Timeline”.
- Events are grouped by day: “Today”, “Yesterday”, then dated headings.
What does the timeline record?
- Tasks created, completed, reopened, or reassigned.
- Task lists created, deleted, or renamed.
- Project detail changes: name, description, start/end dates, and privacy.
- Members added or removed.
- Files uploaded or deleted.
- Majlis announcements published or deleted.
Note: The timeline is read-only. No member can edit or delete events — that's what makes it a trustworthy reference for review and compliance.
Who can see the Project Timeline?
The timeline follows the same permissions as the project. Public project timelines are visible to everyone in the company; private project timelines are scoped to project members only. No extra settings to configure.
What happens to the timeline if a member is deleted?
The deleted member's actions remain in the timeline, but their name renders as “Deleted user” while the original action text is preserved. History is never lost.
When to use the Project Timeline
- When you return from leave and want to catch up on what happened in five minutes.
- When writing a weekly status update for a client or leadership.
- When reviewing project progress as a company owner without a meeting.
- When you need an audit trail for legal review or compliance.
Tip: Tip: the Project Timeline is available on Fareeqy Pro. The Free plan gives you per-task activity logs.
